In Orange County alone, there are 35,000 people who experience homelessness each year. HomeAid, the non-profit organization established by the Building Industry Association in 1989, is helping to solve this problem by building and maintaining dignified housing where homeless families and individuals can rebuild their lives.
Since its inception 20 years ago, HomeAid Orange County has completed over 44 housing projects through its Housing Development Program. Each year nearly 6,000 people are served through HomeAid built shelters, helping thousands of individuals get back on their feet and regain a life of self-sufficiency.
Project Playhouse® is HomeAid’s signature fundraiser and has raised over $5 million to help build shelters the past 17 years. This year, we are excited to announce that Black Diamond Builders will be partnering to build a playhouse.
This one-of-a-kind creation will join seven other playhouses on August 1, 2009 at the Irvine Spectrum Center® for the opening day of HomeAid’s Project Playhouse®! These playhouses will be open to the public for touring through the culmination of the live public auction on September 12, 2009 and will draw crowds from all over the country.
Black Diamond Builders is honored to be a part of this event!
